Email: torberg2@icloud.com

Tor has 25+ years of experience in the drilling industry. He first started in diamond drilling in 1986. While using this methodology of drilling, he became well versed on skid mounted and helicopter portable units. In 1995, Tor moved from northern BC to the Vancouver area and began learning the art of geotechnical drilling. Here, his knowledge was expanded from coring rock to gathering soil information and he gained valuable experience in the installation of a variety of ground monitoring instruments (slope indicators, piezometers, monitoring wells, anodes etc.). He also became proficient on solid/hollow stem auger, mud rotary and air rotary. In 1999, Tor saw his first sonic drill in operation and was amazed at the quality of sample and the speed at which the bore could be drilled. In 2000, Tor continued to expand his knowledge (environmental drilling and geothermal) while employed by Sonic Drilling.

In 2004, he became a certified Sonic Drilling Technician. Tor has been focused mainly on sonic drills since that time. He has experience on a variety of sonic machines over the last 11 years; Sonicor 50K (Roussy), BLY –Pro-Sonic, Dietrich and the SonicSampDrill. While employed as a sonic driller/ trainer /supervisor, Tor worked in areas of the globe from -50 to +50 C. From remote locations to city centres, he has the experience and the fortitude to see any project through to completion. As an example, Tor was employed as a project leader in Australia and a driller trainer with SonicSampDrill in northeastern Russia. Tor has been trained in a variety of supervisor modules. Most recently, he has completed the Construction Safety Officer course held at BCIT.
